The device plays sounds from headphones and provides gentle pulses to the tongue via a Tonguetip, which retrains your brain and helps you pay less attention to your tinnitus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Dr. Alexandra Tarvin at Elevate Audiology was hand-selected to offer this treatment option and bring it to South Carolina and the surrounding areas. Specialized training is required to dispense this device and we&#8217;re happy to be able to offer this innovative treatment to our qualifying patients.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">How Does Lenire Work?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Bluetooth headphones, which are provided, deliver customized sounds to activate the auditory nerve to the brain. The settings are customized by your healthcare professional.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul>\n<li>The Tonguetip, specifically designed to treat tinnitus, sits comfortably in the closed mouth. Tiny electrodes on the Tonguetip deliver mild and safe energy pulses to the surface of the tip of the tongue.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A lightweight handheld device controls the timing and intensity of the treatment. This follows a large-scale clinical trial designed to meet the FDA&#8217;s requirements during which 83% of patients recommended Lenire for the treatment of tinnitus. We will learn more about your needs and can schedule a proper evaluation including a hearing evaluation if you do not have complete and thorough results from an audiologist valid within the past 6 months.<br><br>If it is mutually decided you are a good fit for Lenire we will schedule a Lenire fitting and the appropriate follow-ups to begin your treatment plan. I am a Tinnitus patient who was diagnosed in Early 2023. My local ENT doctor and audiologist suggested I get hearing aids with sound therapy. I got my hearing aids in May of 2023. I also started seeing a behavior therapist to try and develop coping skills to better handle my Tinnitus. The hearing aids did not seem to help much so I began seeking out other treatment methods. I discovered the Lenire device and did my research and decided I was willing to give it a try. At this point I was willing to try about anything, I spoke to my local audiologist, and they said they had heard of Lenire but was not interested in offering Lenire to its patients. I decided to seek out another audiologist who offered the Lenire device. I called three other clinics who offered the device. Two of the clinics did not seem to know much about Lenire and could not give me a firm price. Jamie with Elevate Audiology was very prompt in giving me a price was very knowledgeable and set me an appointment for 12\/22\/23. We drove from out of state to meet with Dr Tarvin. On the day we came up Dr. Tarvin called in with the flu. However, since we had drove four hours, she set up a face time interview so her staff could go ahead and fit me for the Lenire device. My treatment with Lenire had been amazing. I have just completed the initial 12 week sessions and my Tinnitus score has dropped from 65 to 10. I still hear the noise but the tone has changed and my brain does not focus on the sounds as much.
